How to distinguish the Pacific oyster from the flat oyster?
The flat and Pacific oysters do look alike, but you can easily distinguish the two species if you examine the shape and structure of the shell. The flat oyster is round and quite flat, while the Pacific oyster is more elongated, with a moderately concave undershell and a sturdy, billowing surface with rough structures.
