Dwarf Birch
Betula nana

Dwarf Birch is a creeping bush. It grows in bogs, swamps, at beaches and in forest-tundra. Here in the south of Norway, the dwarf birch is less common.
You can recognize the dwarf birch on its hairy twigs. Its leaves are dark green but turn red in the fall. The leaves have been used as painkillers – especially to relieve stomachache.
